Volunteer Roles
Aid Station Support
Help at one of our 6 aid stations along the route. Hand out snacks, water, and encouragement to riders.
Shifts: 4-6 hours
SAG Driver
Drive a support vehicle along the route. Help riders who need assistance getting back safely.
Requires: Valid license, own vehicle
Registration & Check-in
Help riders check in on ride morning at Sports Basement. Hand out bibs and answer questions.
Shift: Early morning (5:30-8am)
Finish Line & After-Party
Cheer riders across the finish line and help with the celebration. Food service, setup, cleanup.
Shift: Afternoon/Evening
Route Marshal
Station yourself at key intersections to help direct riders and ensure safety.
Shifts: 4-6 hours
Photography
Capture the day! Take photos of riders at scenic spots along the route.
Requires: Camera, own transport

Setup times are when we need you on site. Each stop stays open until riders have cleared it.

We're hiring
Help us find 52 volunteers
We're looking for someone to help us fill this year's volunteer crew, and we want to be really clear about how narrow the job is. We need 52 people signed up for aid station, check-in and SAG shifts on August 29, 2026. Find the people, get them signed up on our form, done.
It is not the coordinator job. You wouldn't be building schedules, running training, managing anybody, or working the event itself. Our partners at Bike Monkey handle all of that from start to finish. Once someone signs up, they're out of your hands and into good ones.
- What you'd do
- Fill 52 volunteer shifts across six aid stations, rider check-in and SAG support. You get our sign-up link and the freedom to fill it however you like.
- What you wouldn't do
- No scheduling, no training, no day-of management, no working the ride. Your job ends when someone hits submit.
- Who tends to be great at this
- Someone plugged into Bay Area cycling clubs, running groups, student orgs or a workplace volunteer program, who is comfortable asking. Some of our best volunteers came from someone simply saying “you'd love this, come do it with me.”
- When
- Starting now and wrapping the week before the ride, so everyone has time to plan. Work whatever hours suit you.
- Pay
- This is a paid gig, and the rate depends on what you bring to it. Tell us a bit about your background and what you'd need, and we'll work it out together.
